Excuse the mess

I'm in the process of doing some updates on my website, but somehow I managed to delete my header logo in the progress and can't seem to get it back. I think I may have edited some code that is keeping me from re-instating the old logo. Please bear with me as I figure this out. Until then, you'll see the theme title up there {Trinity Theme}. Thanks for your patience! :) I've also been sick the past few days and so has my kiddo....and now we've had a few inches of snow and everything in Portland has shut down. Lol! So if you don't hear from me 'til next week, you'll know why. :)

My view today

Spending the day decluttering our spare bedroom in prep for family visiting late next week. Our Irish Setter is up here keeping us company. :)

Right after I snapped this pic, she got up, came over and laid down right in front of me and put her head in my lap. Kinda hard to get anything done now. Lol! Yeah, she's kinda spoiled. ;) How are you spending your Saturday?

Breakfast anyone?

20130212-102511.jpgI've realized my need for heartier breakfasts on studio days since I never eat a "real lunch" when working. I get in the midst of creating and I find it hard to stop...especially when I'm having a "good" day where things are flowing and coming together quickly (and you other creatives out there all know how that goes...the whole ebb and flow thing). How 'bout you?

This morning I made myself a fresh strawberry and coconut milk smoothie with scrambled egg on gluten-free toast (Udi's brand is my fave and it was on sale this morning at Safeway) with a smidgen of apricot preserves. I like to keep things as simple as possible these days when it comes to food. I've found that for me, it keeps me eating healthy. If its too complicated, I'm less likely to stick with it. :)

Well, I'm off to get a shower (the boys used up all the hot water this morning, so mine had to wait), then I'm off to the studio for a few hours before I have to pick up the kiddo from school. Have a good one y'all! xoxo

Sketching girls + their lovies

20130201-125932.jpg Something I've been exploring through my sketching lately is stuffed animals...which I had quite the collection of as a girl. What did you/do you collect? What would you like to see me draw/paint next?

There's no school today and I woke up with a runny nose (seems I'm not going to avoid coming down with what the kiddo has), so we are taking it easy here today and staying home. Might venture out to the library later if I'm feeling up to it. I have a whole bunch of books on hold about watercolor technique, so I REALLY want to go pick those up. Watercolor is much different than acrylic paint and I find myself wanting to learn more about working with it. I love the feel of my sketches and want to preserve that more and I think watercolor will do that...and I have pan watercolor/gouache here at home just begging to be used more regularly. :)

Have a lovely weekend and I'll see y'all back here next week, ok? Ok! xoxo
