Jesse Reno class
hey y'all! i haven't posted here in a while....i had a little fender-bender a few weeks ago and ended up with whiplash, so doing anything where i'm sitting or standing for any length of time has been no fun for me. thankfully, i'm finally starting to feel up to short stints on the computer (three visits a week to my chiropractor along with massage therapy are helping). still trying to take it easy and slowly get back to life in general. thanks to all of you who have been praying for me....keep those prayers coming! i do feel like i'm healing quicker than is normal for this sort of thing...and i think that God is taking this unfortunate accident and using it to help me learn to take better care of myself....something i've never been good at. ;) :D
so.....back to the class i took from jesse reno at the beginning of october (man, has it been that long already?)....it was AWESOME! i got alot from it....even though i kinda feel like my class paintings don't show that (but i'm gonna show them to ya anyway :D ). in some ways his process is kinda similar to mine, in the ways that it was different, it challenged me. and that was a good thing! :) it pushed me to approach my process a bit differently....imparting a bit more freedom and more awareness of how i can push what i'm already doing to the next level.
what draws me to his work is the rawness and freedom of it. his subject matter can be quite dark and primitive (so not me), but the messyness and freeness of it i love!! so, here's a few pics from the class...
