My art studio in Portland, Oregon
Currently I work out of my home studio located just outside of Portland, in Tualatin. Originally I'm from Alabama, known as the Heart of Dixie. I've lived and worked in Portland, Oregon for the past 17 years. My work is informed by color and forms found in nature and influenced by the work of painters Joan Mitchell and Claude Monet.
My work is in hundreds of private and corporate collections worldwide, most recently several of my paintings were acquired for the permanent corporate art collection at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan, New York. I've been featured in several national and regional publications, exhibit my work at galleries across the United States, and partner with interior designers and art consultants to connect with clients in need of original artwork. I also sell my one of a kind paintings directly here on my website and I also enjoy creating commissioned paintings for my patrons.
A little about what I do...
I help my clients create an atmosphere of joy and calm in any room. Working out of my studio in Portland, Oregon, I make expressive joyful abstract paintings informed by the color, forms, and beauty of nature.
The thing I hear most from my clients is that they want their homes to be a place filled with joy, where they can relax and de-stress after a long hard day. They say when they look at my paintings, instantly they feel a sense of joy and calm. That the stress just melts away.
I believe beauty is necessary, serving as an invitation to savor life and a way to experience a sense of the eternal. My intent is to make art that stirs the soul and connects us not only to the human experience, but also to what lies beyond our sight.
