I have been busy getting ready for a local exhibition of my paintings at JoLa Cafe on SW Corbett Avenue in Portland, OR. The show begins February 5th for Portland's First Thursday from 6-10pm. I would love to see you there if you are in the area. And bring your friends! When you stop by be sure to come find me. See the image below for all the details.
Happy New Year y'all!!!! To kick off 2015, I decided to participate in a painting challenge.....30 paintings in 30 days for the month of January. Of course I've gotten a late start as my January doesn't really get started until my kiddo is back at school from Christmas vacation. ;) I've decided to start off with a few abstract landscapes {something new I've been wanting to play with} and I've gotten several finished, but this is my very first one I'm posting. Click on the painting title below to see more pics.
Keep your eyes out for the next one tomorrow {tomorrow's is one of a pair}. Or you can just sign up here to get daily notifications of these new pieces so you don't miss 'em....if you are already in my "Insider Circle Club", you will have to sign up for this list separately, as this is a new list with daily emails just for the duration of this painting challenge. :D
Gosh the past month just flew by! Wasn't it just November 1st yesterday? Lol! I've noticed lately that I've neglected taking care of myself and my physical and mental state has been showing signs....and this past week I've been having headaches and vertigo along with fatigue. I've been pushing myself too hard and my body finally said "Whoa girl!!".
I've gotten a bit of good time in the studio and finally some paintings are beginning to get finished. Here's some peeks...
I've been taking it easy this week, but hopefully next week I'll have some more pictures to share with you. Take care and thanks for checking in on me. :)
Getting ready to work today and I realized that I match one of my newest paintings. How funny! Guess this proves that part of me really and truly is in each of my paintings. :)
Autumn colors are seeping into my work in a big way! I get asked all the time how I choose my colors.....it's a completely intuitive process that is strongly influenced by my surroundings, which at the moment are fully ablaze with rich fiery hues.
I even find that what I pick out to wear each day is influenced....I've been wearing a lot of reds and warm plum tones and finding myself wanting to wear more of my gold toned jewelry as opposed to my usual silver.
Do you notice this happens to you as well? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Leave me a comment or email me!
