Contemporary Abstract Painter Paulette Insall's paintings come from her heart....expressing emotion as a visual language, using pure color and expressive marks to connect and communicate. Her abstract art emits a special light and magic that is both spiritual and moving.

If you haven't visited my site in a while, them you're in for a treat! I've completely redesigned it, so if you're reading this post in your blog reader, get on over to www.pauletteinsall.com and check it out! :)
I've also been hard at work on my new abstract painting series and you can see all my finished pieces in the new online shop www.pauletteinsall.com/shop where you can now purchase paintings directly from my website with a credit card and it's all secure. I'm offering free shipping for a limited time to celebrate the new site, so I encourage you to grab any you love now and not wait.
Below are just a few of the pieces that are still in progress...there are many more, but I'll share them in another post. Lots going on in the studio right now and I'm learning so much about myself through the process....I learn new things each and every day! For instance, I have found that even though when I paint, or do almost anything for that matter, I produce a mess....but I don't function well in a messy space. Now, I don't like to clean ;) but I must in order to keep myself from getting stuck creatively....it's like the mess around me creates a block....which has lead me to trying to keep my house in better order as well. Lots of purging going on here too! Gosh have we accumulated a lot of stuff! Lol! Okay, I'm gonna be quiet now so you can go look at the paintings.... :D
Hope y'all are havin' a wonderful Thursday! As for me, I'll be glad when the sun shows up again this weekend. Ready for some summer sun! :)
Hi! I didn't work in the studio today, but I wanted to show you a bit of the progression of the I worked on this week. This painting has gone through many shifts.....and lots of layers of paint! I started off with the yellow, orange, and cream, and then I added some warm pink and bright greens (see pic from Tuesday's post). The first picture below is where the painting was when I started back on it on Wednesday morning. The second picture was the painting as the same stage shown on my easel to give an idea of scale (this painting is 24"x36"....one of my largest paintings to date and I'm itchin' to work larger). Then the last picture is part of the way through yesterday's layers.
I hope you enjoy this little peek into my painting process. Can you tell I'm ready for spring? I'd be willing to bet that many of you are too. I'll be back tomorrow with a picture of the finished painting. Can't wait to share it with you! Y'all have a good night!
