Beautiful art that resonates in the soul

Contemporary Abstract Painter Paulette Insall's paintings come from her heart....expressing emotion as a visual language, using pure color and expressive marks to connect and communicate. Her abstract art emits a special light and magic that is both spiritual and moving.

Friday, in the studio...

I got back in the studio today and added a bunch more layers to this beauty....still more to go though. No more time to paint until Monday, so it will be waiting 'til then.

Have a wonderful weekend y'all and I'll see ya back here next week, ok? xo

New digs + new art

If you haven't visited my site in a while, them you're in for a treat! I've completely redesigned it, so if you're reading this post in your blog reader, get on over to www.pauletteinsall.com and check it out! :)

I've also been hard at work on my new abstract painting series and you can see all my finished pieces in the new online shop www.pauletteinsall.com/shop where you can now purchase paintings directly from my website with a credit card and it's all secure. I'm offering free shipping for a limited time to celebrate the new site, so I encourage you to grab any you love now and not wait.

Below are just a few of the pieces that are still in progress...there are many more, but I'll share them in another post. Lots going on in the studio right now and I'm learning so much about myself through the process....I learn new things each and every day! For instance, I have found that even though when I paint, or do almost anything for that matter, I produce a mess....but I don't function well in a messy space. Now, I don't like to clean ;) but I must in order to keep myself from getting stuck creatively....it's like the mess around me creates a block....which has lead me to trying to keep my house in better order as well. Lots of purging going on here too! Gosh have we accumulated a lot of stuff! Lol! Okay, I'm gonna be quiet now so you can go look at the paintings.... :D

Hope y'all are havin' a wonderful Thursday! As for me, I'll be glad when the sun shows up again this weekend. Ready for some summer sun! :)

New LIVE online painting class in November!

New LIVE online painting class in November What do a blank moleskine journal, ornament, trinket box, a wood disk, and paint brushes have in common? They are all part of a new LIVE online class I'm planning for November! I will broadcasting live from my studio showing you how you can create special one of a kind hand painted gifts for your friends and family this holiday season. Giving you the ability to be a creative artistic gift giver! Nothing shows a person how much they mean to you quite like a gift you make with your very own hands.

Recordings will be available shortly after each live broadcast for those who can't attend the live session (or if you want to re-watch them later). For all the details once they are ready, be sure to sign up here: http://eepurl.com/cRig6

Watercolor play!!!

20130130-143437.jpg
20130130-153542.jpg Aiden is still home sick from school today (day three) and I'm starting to have painting withdrawals since I haven't been able to go to my studio since last week. The only paint I have left here at home is my watercolors, so I'm taking being stuck here at home as a sign that it's time to start exploring working with them (which I've been wanting to do any way, but haven't taken the time).

I'm using one of the barely used journals I have (I keep trying to do the "art journaling" thing, but it just never seems to gel for me....I'm more of a sketcher when it comes to journaling). It has heavy weight double sized paper that works for wet media, so I was hoping it would work for this little experiment...and it did! Can't wait to try this on the couple of pieces of watercolor paper I found this morning that missed getting moved to the studio. :)

I've also been brainstorming ideas for my next paintings as well as what my next painting class will be at my studio (in Portland, OR). I'm planning it for the evening of March 8th (which is a Friday) and I'm going to teach an abstract background with a whimsical tree for this next one. What do y'all think?
